Parking on the island of Texel

Do you want to park your car at the ferry harbour on the island of Texel? There you will find two parking areas where you can leave your car free of charge. Just follow the signs P “Afhalen + Wegbrengen”. It’s a short walk from the parking area to the ferry.

Exploring Texel by public transport

As soon as you step off the ferry, you will find a bus stop on the right-hand site. This is the point of departure for various destinations around the island of Texel. The bus provides an hourly connecting service with the ferry. The terminal is also the point of departure for the “Texelhopper” service. To make more flexible use public transport you will have to book a seat in advance. It makes sense to check out your options beforehand to make sure of a smooth onward journey to your destination on the island of Texel.

Do you want to continue your journey from Den Helder by train? There is a Dutch railways machine in the Texel ferry terminal where you can top up your public transport smart card (OV-Chipkaart).

Renting a bike in the Texel ferry harbour

Perhaps you are spending a day on Texel and want to explore the island by bike? Or perhaps you are staying longer and want to rent a bike for the whole period? No problem! You can rent a bike as soon as you step off the ferry. Just look for the sign that says “Rijwielverhuur Veerhaven Texel”. Here you can rent all sorts of bikes, including tandems and electric bicycles.

Food and drinks in the ferry harbour

At the ferry harbour you will find a Kiosk 'Bij de Boot' with a terrace where you can purchase all sorts of beverages, snacks and filled rolls.

At the kiosk you can pay by card. If you can only pay in cash, it is preferable to pay in exact change.

If this is not possible, a form for change will be provided to obtain change. The change will then be transferred to your bankaccount.
